===[ Civilian House Scheme Mod ]====================================================

===[Notes]===========
Author:		Kasdia
Filename: 	AnubisFSMod.zip
Date: 		08th May, 2003
Filecount:	10
Creation Time:	Nine hours (I'm not kidding either. These took bloody ages!)

Features: 	NEW Original Textures!
		NEW Paint Jobs
		NEW Fitting colour schemes and details!
		NEW Other minor things that don't really need explaining. ^_^;

		When I say 'original', I mean that the textures are mostly hand created
		though based up, and manipulated from, the original textures by DA.
		Make no mistake though, these weren't easy. :>

===[Info]===========
Nomads laughing at your ship?
Liberty Navy yelling at you for copyright infringement?
Still not impressing Juni with your less-than-impressive paint job?
Have the feeling that Orillian gave you the worst Anubis he could find?
Suspicious that the Order has been lying about how advanced their technology is?

Then this Mod is for you!

Now you can make your Anubis look as sharp as it's name deserves with these new Factional schemes! Included within, you'll find:

* Bretonian Scheme
For when you need to force some British-feeling imperialism down the tail-pipe of the Rogues. Or when you feel the urge to teach the Molly's who the *real* terrorist is!

* Corsair Scheme
For when you're feeling all bad-ass about things, and want to go wreak havoc in style! Not to mention displaying those blood-red markings, and that crimson-skull! Red Dragons? Pfft. More like pink...

* Rogue Scheme
Ahoy! It's a pirate's life for you! Give your Anubis this scheme, and you'll be teaching all those criminals a thing or two about what REAL piracy is! Paint Job comes complete with mainstream criminal-tan, Buccaneer side-art, and skull and cross-scimitars upon the wings. Arrrnubis!

* Anubis Scheme (requested)
Make the Anubis remind you of Anubis with this ancient-feeling (if not slightly race-fighter) black and gold colour scheme. Trimmings include side-art of Anubis, and Ankh panel-art.

Simply take a look at the various beauty shots provided in each Faction folder, and pick the one that you like the most. Then copy the cv_ships.mat file from that folder into your Freelancer/Data/Ships/Order/ folder and voila! Your CTE range vessel has gone from boring liberty-defender rip-off, to nifty mean-looking Faction colours!

Your Kung-Fu *can* be stronger...

===[Installation]===========
As stated, all you have to do to install the ship of your choice is to copy the or_ships.mat file from the specific folder into the following location:

Freelancer/Data/Ships/Order/

It will replace the existing or_ships.mat file, and give you the new colour scheme on the Anubis VHF; even those piloted by the AI. Natch!

Yes, that means that the following ships will be updated to have the new colours:
Anubis		O7A

Now for those all important questions:
Q. Can I use this file in MP?
A. The answer is a basic 'Yes'.

The texture file is a client-side file, which means that if you copy over it it won't mess up anything at all. However, while you'll see every other Civilian-Grade vessel out there with the same House colours as the one you chose, they'll just see you with the standard textures *unless* they have this Mod installed too... in which case they'll either see you in either of the four colours, depending on their preference.

Think of it as you wearing blue-tinted glasses, and them wearing red. You can both see the same thing, but they're different colours. However, that doesn't effect your vision, and so all is well. I can't really explain it in any more basic terms.
(For those who know all this already, it's explained for the people who don't!)

As for what will happen if the Server has it installed... I really don't know. If you ever find out, tell me! ^_^;

Q. Can I use this with other Mods?
A. Yep!

This doesn't replace any fighter stats, just the fighter textures. So you can use it with any mod you like!

Q. Can I use this with your CTE House Scheme Mod?
A. Yep!

In fact, I encourage it! You'll only see the effects of the CTE Mod when you go up against a Faction that uses the CTE, however (assuming you're flying the Anubis around), or when you see one of the CTE ships in a ship dealer, but it makes a lot of difference to be shooting at a Bretonian Schemed Falcon than shooting at a Cardboard one, if you ask me. :>

===[Contact]===========
You can contact me over at PhoenixAeon@Hotmail.com if you have any questions or ideas, or just general praise. It's nice to feel appreciated, and know that someone out there enjoys what you've spent a good few hours working on.

Please note that I'm not even going to look at any E-Mail that includes the content of "How do I install it?!" or "Will you texture my ship for me?" So don't bother asking me. I'm not the guy you want to see about those things. :>

Anyhow, enjoy!

===[Various Bits of Thanks]========
Thanks go out to:

OnkelSio: Who said "Yeah man, do it!" when I mentioned a Piratey-Texture.
The Rogues one was done (or was inspired by, at least) because of him, damnit! (And it looks ace, too!) I hope it's what you wanted. Even managed to put the skull and cross-scimitars on there. Hopefully others will love it too!

Stimpy986: Who said he'd "actually like to see a black and chrome Anubis".
Well, you made me make a black and gold Anubis texture, which will hopefully be what you wanted. If no one else but you likes it, it was worth the effort. :>

HCL: For making the UTF Editor which made me lose time and effort making these bloody things. :>

Lancer's Reactor Staff: For hosting the files, and providing the best Freelancer repository of stuff that anyone could ask for.

===[Copyright and Usage]===========
Freelancer is (c) 2002 Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved.

I imagine Digital Anvil have a say in there somewhere, but the MS lawyers are powerful and evil enough to cover both. Mwahaa!

This Mod, however, is (c) Kasdia, 2003, as far as creative modifications are covered.
To this end you:
MAY NOT change the colour of one pixel and call it your own work.
MAY NOT sell it for personal gain and profit. (As if you'd make anything from it)
MAY NOT replace this readme and call it your own.

You:
MAY include it in your Mod if you tell me you're doing so, and include this readme file in there with it (even if you're only using one texture file)
MAY submit it to other sites (i.e. Your own) as long as the zip file remains *intact* as the original. (i.e., all 10 files are there with this readme and whatnot)
MAY split the files up into individual downloads if you include the image files for each one *and* this Readme.
MAY turn it into an FLMOD if you so desire.
MAY include it in your Mod without prior permission, providing you mention it in the credits listing, and include this Read-Me file.

I'm just covering the bases, is all. I hate Copyright bits...
I've also toned them down a little. As these are newer, they apply to the CTE Mod too. So, feel free to go submit the files to other places if I haven't already done so. Or put them on your own site, as long as the credits to me are there. :)
